South Africa’s BLK JKS have announced an Irish debut at Dublin’s Academy 2 on Tuesday November 3rd. BLK JKS released their debut album ‘After Robots’ in September 2009 and have been touring extensively across Europe.
The band are a mix of wildly disparate styles and influences: there are elements in their sound of shoegazing, of roots reggae, jazzy extemporisation and African hi-life and drum beats. It all adds up to one of the most unique musical visions of 2009.
