Lisa Hannigan, Vicar Street, Dublin

Sporting a new fringe-assisted hairdo and seen drinking tea on-stage (Rock and Roll is indeed alive as our photographer noted), Lisa Hannigan capped off a great year which has seen her wow crowds at SXSW in Texas, tour the US with The Low Anthem, appear on The Colbert Report, Later with Jools Holland and receive nominations for the Choice Music Prize and the Mercury Music Prize.

Whew. All in all a solid 365 days and here are photos from one of them as she played to the home crowd with her talented band beside her. Photos by Damien McGlynn.

It was a super concert played to a packed house, and what a finish – Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode.

Thought the new songs bode well for the second album, loved the one with the banjo, very orginal arrangement and the Dylan, John Martyn and Depeche Mode covers were class.
