Mp3: Lykke Li – ‘I’m Good, I’m Gone’ (Black Kids / Metronomy remixes)

When 21 year-old Swedish pop starlet Lykke Li made her debut Irish appearance in The Sugar Club in June, she had the normally reserved clientele of that particular venue, up dancing and singing along. She played ‘I’m Good, I’m Gone’ twice that night so it’s fitting then that we have two very different versions in the form of remixes for you here.
First up we have the band on the receiving end of a walloping and crass review from Pitchfork Media, Florida’s Black Kids. Both remixes leave the vocal well alone but Black Kids’ version becomes a real 4/4 stomping with ethereal synths in the background and driving disco bass.
Metronomy‘s take on the same song is a lot darker but equally danceable. Featuring a ringing phone which references the lyrics and some eerie stabs of synth going on too to bring things a little off centre.
