Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova Interface session

Hansard / Irglova

After an exceptional week of Oscar-winning coverage Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova saddled up to the excellent AOL The Interface studio to perform three songs as The Swell Season which were captured in mp3 and video podcasts along with an ‘aul chinwag with the question-posing silent titles.

You can watch the duo perform their Oscar-winning song, ‘Falling Slowly,’ as well as two other songs from the Once soundtrack. Click here.

In other news, Warner Chappell Music has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Hansard and Irglova.

Under the agreement, Warner/Chappell Music will administer Hansard’s and Irglova’s catalog of work, including songs written by Hansard as a member of the band The Frames, music from Hansard’s and Irglova’s debut album, “The Swell Season” and songs from the “Once” soundtrack, as well as their future compositions.

Hmmm… Wonder how the rest of The Frames feel about that? Is it all amicable or do they have a say?

Great news for Glen and Marketa even if it is leaving the Frames out in the cold. Would be nice to see The Swell Season tour here…but they must nearly have residency status in the States at this stage.

Actually you can’t, the other songs are rather arbitrarily region crippled by digital restrictions management.
