Thanks dude – may not have heard without that “heads up”.

No fucking way! I googled to see who is playing support and I find this… After the half-assed gig in November, the rescheduled gig better have complementary mojitos and dancing hula girls.

    Thanks for the heads-up Alan.

This is so weird. What a gig that will be though. Fair play to them going ahead with it. Not their fault they can’t read a ferry timetable.

    Most bizarre!

That’s well annoying – after reading this yesterday and hearing regular news bulletins on Phantom the last I heard at around 7 yesterday was that they weren’t playing. So of course I didn’t head in.
Bad form. Anyone hear what the gig was like? I’ll be getting a refund if I can for this one.

so who exactly was responsible for this – the band or the organisers?

Aidan – it was a joint effort between A.C and Foggy Notions: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=34901479&blogID=396829092

One of the most amazing shows I’ve ever been to. For sure the best Whelan’s has ever seen!

As with any show, it’s the punters that make it happen ultimately, and it seems to me from messageboards and other doyens of truth that some have been rightly fucked over.
Granted POD were probably pissed with AC for missing the boat – whatever the excuse (and AC probably don’t want to burn bridges there either), and they don’t want to be giving business to Whelans/foggy notions, but nevertheless the failure to extend the “curfew” OR stick up a simple note at Tripod about a venue change is deplorable. As usual the gullible public gets shafted, for shame.
