Glass

Legendary contemporary composer Philip Glass will play a solo piano concert on the 17th July in St. Patrick’s Dundalk.

His Dundalk concert will feature his Etudes for piano. The event is being organised by the Louth Contemporary Music Society in association with the Louth County Arts Office, Dundalk Arts Office and the Irish Times and is a real coup for all involved.

Joining Philip Glass on the night will be Ioana Petcu Colan performing on solo violin Glass’s Knee Play 4 from Einstein on the Beach, The Dublin Guitar Quartet performing his string quartets Company and Mishima, plus Gerard McChrystal will perform Facades with the composer on piano.

Will he be playing any of his work from Leonard Cohen’s Book of Longing do you reckon? Would love to hear that.
