Galway’s Flirt FM extend schedule

Volunteer Galway student radio station Flirt FM 101.3 for Galway is launching its new extended schedule on Monday the 13th of October. For seven weeks up to Christmas and 12 after, Galway students will be broadcasting from 8am-4am weekdays bringing the schedule up from 60 hours to 100 hours a week. 55 new recruits have already been trained in and will be featured across breakfast, magazine, current affairs and music shows.

After the Happy Hour Drive time show specialist music kicks in at 8pm; Mondays are Punk & Metal, Tuesdays – Rock & Indie, Wednesday – Leftfield & Electronic, Thursday – House & Techno and Fridays Hip-hop & World. A new addition to their line up is 6 part Sound & Vision funded documentary series on Irish students living and working abroad called The Getaway. This will air on Mondays at 4pm from the 13th.

The Flirt Playlist, which is available to stream at the station website contains tracks from Tobacco, Adebisi Shank, Messiah J & the Expert, Jenny Lewis and Friendly Fires. That’s a great idea folks.
