Entertainment.ie Christmas awards online vote open
The Inaugural 3G Mobile Christmas Annual Awards has been opened to a public vote at entertainment.ie until December 21st. Winners will be announced at a special ceremony in January.
Music-wise you can vote from the following:
Best Summer Festival: Electric Picnic, Oxegen, Castle Palooza, Festival of World Cultures, Cois Fharraige
Best Venue: POD Complex, Vicar Street, Whelans, Roisin Dubh, Savoy (Cork), The Stables (Mullingar), The Button Factory, The Pavilion (Cork), The Waterfront (Belfast), The Olympia (Dublin)
Best Band: Fight Like Apes, Jape, Oppenheimer, Messiah J and The Expert, Grand Pocket Orchestra, Elbow, R.E.M. Bon Iver, Neon Neon, Vampire Weekend

Strange that its slanted towards irish bands but has a few international bands for good measure. Prob would have made sense just to focus on irish music if that was the case
Not that im complaining, the standard of new irish music this year has been incredible
Hi Ronan – the bands listed in each category are more of a guideline/suggestion, as you can vote for your own choice in the ‘other’ box, if your favourite is not listed. That’s why there’s a selection of Irish and international bands. Don’t ask me about the technical side of things, though, I’ve no idea.
