State wins PPAI award - Designer of the Year

Last night State Magazine picked up its second award of the year, following the nod at October’s Irish Web Awards for Best Music Site. This time it was the turn of Art Director Simon Roche (that’s him celebrating), who was named Designer Of The Year at the PPAI Magazine Awards at the Four Seasons.

According to the judges, Simon has created a magazine that is -edgy, vibrant and innovative…unique to its own product.’ They even used the words fresh and trendy, two attributes that haven’t been associated with Roche for some years.

Bravely getting a few words in edgeways to host Marty Whelan, Simon paid tribute to the photographers, illustrators and writers that frankly make his job such a joy. State.ie was also nominated in the best website category, the only music site to do so.

Congrats to Simon from all of us!
