IMRO Showcase Tour – Land Lovers, Dirty Epics and more
The IMRO showcase tour continues Wednesday 1st April in Andrews Lane, Dublin and State in an effort to encourage you to go see upcoming Irish bands, has teamed up with EA to highlight the bands and songs you can expect to hear. Here’s a rundown of Wednesday’s Lineup.
Dirty Epics
Just back from SXSW in Texas and gigs in New York, pop punk rockers Dirty Epics are on the road promoting their Straight In No Kissing album. Star of their show is no doubt frontwoman triple-barrelled Sarah Jane Wai O’ Flynn. Cormac Farrell also goes by the porn name Fluffy O’ Reilly.

The Red Labels
Influenced by energetic 1970s rock & roll, these guys played 100 gigs last year so if you still haven’t heard them, there’s no excuses now. Their EP The Silence Breaks is set for release April 3rd 2009.

The Dirty 9’s
This five-piece rock band walked away with €10,000 after winning TG4’s Deis Roc programme last year and they’ve just recorded their debut album Stop Screaming, Start Dreaming with renowned producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals, Lost Prophets, Mel C, and Catatonia).

Land Lovers
Land Lovers is the musical project of Pádraig Cooney from Dublin expanded to a full band line-up. Their sound is a little bit pop, little bit indie and a little bit good. Their Romance Romance album picked up some critical acclaim last year and the band are currently putting the finishing touches to a short 6 song album called Immovable Feet.

This gig is on in Andrew’s Lane on Wednesday night at 8pm and it’s €5 in. Go see!
The IMRO Showcase Tour is the longest running event of it’s kind in Ireland. It provides bands with the opportunity to connect with a wider audience and gives music fans and industry the chance to see the very best in emerging Irish talent.
