Michael Jackson confirms London dates

The news is now official – Michael Jackson will indeed be performing at ten date residency at the O2 in London, kicking off on July 8th and his only live shows anywhere in world this year. While not the fifty date run that had been predicted in some quarters, it still marks a considerable commitment for someone who has not been in the best of health for a while.

Should we care or will this just be a freak show of the most enormous proportions? The idea is clearly to do something along the lines of Prince’s similar move last year, something that did indeed push the purple one back into the public consciousness. The question is whether Michael Jackson is beyond redemption, although his ever faithful fan base are sure to have the tickets snapped up. Whatever the results, they’re guaranteed to be enthralling (in a good or awful way) and you can’t argue with a career that has included some of the greatest tunes in pop history.

Tickets go on sale to the public at 7am Friday, March 13th priced £75 / £65 / £50 + booking fees and will be available through www.MichaelJacksonLive.com. If you hurry you can watch his delayed press conference any moment now there too.
