The Stone Roses to reform? Hmm….

By Phil Udell on Wednesday, 18 March 2009No Comment | Print this post

The perennial ‘will they or won’t they’ conversation on whether the Stone Roses will ever get back together took a new turn yesterday when the UK edition of the Daily Mirror ran a story claiming that the band were set to announce a 21 date UK tour plus Coachella appearance.

Both John Squire and Ian Brown however were quick to distance themselves from any such rumours. Squire has a major art exhibition opening this summer, and is said to be concentrating on this aspect of his career more than his guitar playing.

Ian Brown’s publicist meanwhile, commented that “we know nothing about a reunion, Ian is working on his new studio album which is due out later this year.”

All of which makes this as unlikely as ever but can there be smoke without fire? If, however, you really feel that your life wouldn’t be complete without seeing the band back together you can sign a petition here.
