I just got back from seeing BellX1 and (very briefly) Lisa Hannigan in Road records - fantastic! Place was rammed, people standing in the windows, no chance of moving, but nobody would have wanted to. They just played behind the counter, no mikes or anything. Delicate, and very, very impressive.

Walked over to 202s in Tower afterwards - they weren't so good. Is it me, or is their singer getting a real American twang to his voice? (he is Irish right?). Very same-y for me. Disappointed, I expected more.

Great day all round though, whoever thought this up deserves a medal. Loved it. If it wasn't for my beloved Aston Villa (yes, I know...) I'd be staying out all afternoon.

Can't wait for this, do you know what the story is for the performances at Road Records? Is it just a case of turning up? Hmmm they have great acts there but can the shop, let alone Fade street accomodate the amount of people who are bound to show up?
