Black Lips play Crawdaddy, record with GZA

One of the defining moments of this year’s SXSW was the surprise collaboration between Atlanta garage rock rabble-rousers The Black Lips and Wu Tang impresario GZA.

The “flower-punk” rockers were joined by the legendary GZA on 200 Million Thousand fav track Drop I Hold. The impressive result is included on the band’s just-released iTunes EP. Check it out here.

The Black Lips play Crawdaddy next Friday 22nd May along with mostly-girl noise/punk band from Los Angeles MIKA MIKO, and Atlanta garage rockers Gringo Star.
Tickets €15 available from Ticketmaster, City Discs, Sound Cellar and usual outlets. www.ticketmaster.ie

Check out a hilariously messy clip from the Black Lips show in London’s Heaven Club, featuring an excellent crowd surf by bassist Jared Swilley, and culminating in a full-on stage invasion below.
