According to their myspace site, Pixies are going to be playing two nights at Dublin’s Olympia on October 1st and 2nd as part of a short European tour. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Thanks to Thrill Pier for the spot.

Update: The tour is in fact part of the twentieth anniversary celebrations for the band’s seminal Doolittle album, with Pixies playing all the album and related b-sides. “We wanted to do something special for Doolittle’s 20th anniversary,” said Black Francis, “and we thought this was a good opportunity to play all of the songs from that album, something we don’t normally do at a regular gig.”

Tickets for the Olympia Theatre are priced €44.20 (Upper Circle Seated) and €54.80 (Standing and Circle Seated) are available from this Friday, July 3 at 9am from the usual outlets.

The tour runs as follows:

OCTOBER

2 – Olympia, Dublin, Ireland
4 – SECC – Hall 4, Glasgow, Scotland
