This is entertainingly written, but I've not read many reviews before with such a naked agenda. A bit more engagement with the actual album and a bit less sneering at the man's fans (or your perception of them) wouldn't have gone amiss.

What an idiotic review. I thought a good review should be impartial. You dont even give the reader a chance to make up their own mind. I doubt you've ever seen him live, or listened to any of his older stuff. The album is pretty good overall. Nice melodies, variation of styles, and mostly doing something different but not necessarily cheesy or commercial (unlike Guetta etc). Why the bias against a whole genre of music that you havent even experienced. Tiesto appeals to people of all ages and tastes, my parents also like some of his stuff. If you ever opened your mind to music or talked to an educated music fan, you would maybe understand Tiesto's music rather than coming to it with eronous preconceived ideas. Maybe you are just pandering to your readership which is weak. If you ever attended one of his gigs you would see that his music appeals to a wide cross section of society- old, young, educated, not. Ive never had a problem at such gigs and those in attendance have come over as open minded. You could learn something from them. Then again, people who are very judgemental like yourself, always seem to be insecure themself. Seriously, what is your problem?

It's worthy of a review as he's roped in people who normally get coverage in State:

Yer man from Sigur Ros,Bloc Party, Nelly Furtado, Sneaky Soundsystem, Emily Haines of metric, Tegan and Sara who all feature.

Totally agree with haido, your right! No one who reads state would normally listen to Tiesto, feel dirty even writing his name but the review pretty much says what we are all thinking.

He should get back into his eurotrash box and stay there!

I'm no Tiesto fan, and I laughed at the claims levelled at the reviewers in the Superjimenez and Codes debacles, but I honestly feel that the sole purpose of the review is to ridicule Tiesto and his fans. What State readers are going to listen to him in the first place? Even a good review wouldn't change anyone's mind. Why waste your time slating this kind of music when you can wax lyrical over the genuinely interesting electronic music out there. I notice no-one commented on the Vitalic, YACHT, Zero 7 or Massive Attack articles (and no, pingbacks don't count). So I guess that answers my question.

I have to say, totally disagree, not normally a Tiesto fan (beyond the occasional, rabid dance-off) but I've found the new album to be entirely enjoyable beyond the man's smug half-smile on the cover, which I've since discarded.
