Sending Letters to Sea featuring Nina Hynes launches tonight

Sending Letters to Sea is a new collaborative music project initiated by the visual artist and musician Mark Garry consisting of the hugely talented Nina Hynes, Electro/acoustic composer Karl Him (also of A=Apple), French classically trained pianist Fabien Leseure, choral / electronic musician Eileen and jazz percussionist Sean Carpio.

This new group is launching their “very spacey and soundtracky” vinyl/CD package which was commissioned by Fingal County Council tonight at 8pm in St. Columba’s Church , Swords, Dublin.

The group was supported by the talents of Geaspar Warfield on Cello and John Egan on Violin and Viola and The Fingal chamber choir. Sending Letters to Sea was developed over a two-year period and recorded in Studio East in Berlin and St. Columba’s Church, Swords.

Judging by the myspace songs, Sending Letters to Sea is one that requires more of our attention.
