The XX are now a trio – official

The XX have officially become a trio since the departure of their keyboardist/guitarist, Baria Qureshi (pictured second from the left). The band cancelled a number of gigs recently due to Baria’s illness and exhaustion. Baria has now decided to leave the band for good and there are no current plans to replace her.
Oliver Sims says “It’s just been a case of, I suppose growing apart. It’s a big jump from 13-years-old to 20. I think we’ve just grown into different people and I don’t believe touring was for her, really.” (via The Stool Pidgeon).
The XX are currently touring the US and return to Europe in December when they will play shows in Galway and Dublin.
I’m always curious about the motivations of band-members who quit once things are taking off. I’m sure she has her reasons.Shame though.
