U2 confirmed for Glasto headliner

U2 will headline the Friday night (June 27th) at Glastonbury in 2010 for the first time ever. Just after 2009’s event ended Michael Eavis suggested that one of the best bands in the world who had never played the festival were interested.
Eavis said:
“The 26-year-old rumour has finally come true. At last, the biggest band in the world are going to play the best festival in the world! Nothing could be better for our 40th anniversary party. And there are even more surprises in the pipeline…”
Glastonbury 2010 sold out within 12 hours of going on sale in October.
