The Beatyard daytime event takes place this Saturday

A new daytime event called The Beat Yard taking in discussions, showcases, workshop and a whole lot more takes place this Saturday in the Twisted Pepper, Abbey Street. Running from 1pm-6pm, you can expect presentations from Jim Carroll (Irish Times), Real Sound, The Richter Collective, Skinny Wolves, DJ Kormac, Schizofonics, Choicecuts, The Scoop Foundation, Dave Parles (Antics), Giles Armstrong (Electric City), Rane, Sennheiser & much more.

There will also be a music and record fair, DJ workshops food (Sushi, Homemade Buckfast Ice-cream, Homemade Pizzas & Cakes), coffee and loads more.

Admission is free but a donation is appreciated as proceeds go to The Scoop Foundation who are hoping to build a small recording studio for disadvantaged teenagers in Crannog Nua, Dublin. Rather than a €2 donation, they are also accepting any dance music paraphernalia, old hi-fi, speakers, decks, CDJs, midi keyboards, ixers, vinyl, an old computer – anything.

Buckfast ice cream? Yes, now you’re talking. We made Buckfast jelly before, it was an epic messy failure but it all went down the hatch…
