Faces of 2010 – Take The Money And Run
By Phil Udell on Tuesday, 12 January 20109 Comments | Print this post
It was six months ago that State first stumbled across Take The Money And Run in their second home of the Spirit Store in Dundalk, eventually running out of winners of the battle of the bands that we had found ourselves judging. Their reward was time in the venue’s Tumbleweed Studio, the results of which are due to see the light of day this spring in their shape of their debut EP. Branching out from their Blondie influenced power pop origins to explore the delights of a more bipolar approach – including strings, pianos, flutes, cornets and even the odd banjo.

these guys are great!
These are one to watch, put on a great live show!
aren’t in the same league as funeral suits or two door cinema club.
but sound okay
@Ciaran… that statement may be a little bit premature. Their new song is pretty rockin’.
That video’s an old song, their new stuff is great, cant wait for the EP
@patrick, Not digging at them at all. All the best to them. But Funeral suits and Two door cinema club are seriously in a different class. Seen Take the money and run at the Village not so long ago.. pretty recent for the record. Singing was out of key with the band..
Hope to see them improve and i’ll be visiting the next gig in dub. Hope you’ll join me Patrick hehe
Wooop ttmr!! Cant wait for the EP!x
