Grammys 2010 – winners and performances

The 52nd Grammys took place last night, bringing us the usual mixture of the bizarre and the odd. The main winners were:

Album Of The Year – Taylor Swift, Fearless
Best Female Pop Vocal – Beyonce, Halo
Best Rap/Sung Collaboration – Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Rihanna, Run This Town
Best Rock Album – Green Day, 21st Century Breakdown
Best Pop Vocal Album -The Black Eyed Peas, The E.N.D.
Record of the Year – Kings Of Leon, Use Somebody
Best New Artist – Zac Brown Band
Best Dance Recording – Lady Gaga, Poker Face
Best Electronic/Dance Album – Lady Gaga, The Fame
Song Of The Year – Beyonce, Single Ladies
Best Alternative Music Album – Phoenix, Wolfgang Amadeus

Phew. Performance wise, there were a lot of what we’ve seen before at the various other ceremonies (oh look, Pink hanging from the ceiling and a Michael Jackson tribute) but we did get a Bon Jovi medley and some more madness from Lady Gaga, this time assisted by Dame Elton John, Green Day! – The Musical and Imelda May singing with Jeff Beck.
