Record Store Day exclusive releases from Universal

Some interesting releases from Universal Music Ireland which you can buy on Record Store Day, April 17th including rare releases from Crystal Castles, Paul Weller, The Rolling Stones and a Metallica / Black Sabbath remix picture disc 12″. Newly signed to Universal, O Emperor will be performing in Tower Records, Dublin on the day.

The Rolling Stones – Plundered My Soul
Specifically made for Record Store Day this 7″ will be a prized possession for those lucky enough to have a high street Indie shop in their locale! ‘Plundered My Soul’ is a new previously unreleased track from the Exile period which will eventually appear on the deluxe version of the Exile re-release due out May 14th. Limited stock of this 7″ will be available, but it’s destined to be a collector’s item.

Paul Weller – Andromeda Mixes
An Exclusive 12″ remix suite of the track -Andromeda’ taken from Paul’s forthcoming album Wake Up the Nation. The four-track EP is remixed by Amorphous Androgynous, who are also supplying their own specially created artwork.

Crystal Castles – Doe Deer
Crystal Castles is an experimental electronic music band from the province of Ontario consisting of producer Ethan Kath and vocalist Alice Glass. Crystal Castles are known for their chaotic live shows and their lo-fi, melancholic home productions. A four-track EP, title track ‘Doe Deer’ taken from their forthcoming album and three tracks taken from previously unreleased self recordings in 2004.

White Lies – The Remixes
A five-track EP, including two remixes never released before (final two). 1. Nothing To Give – M83 Remix 2. Farewell To The Fareground – Rory Phillips White horse Remix 3. Death – Chase & Status Remix 4. A Place To Hide – Autre Monde Remix 5. Unfinished Business – Jorge Elbrecht of Violens Remix

Chapel Club – Don’t Look Down
One sided 7′ single featuring ultra rare track from new band (promo CD copies have been changing hands for £100 + on eBay). Other side is etched.

The Cheek – Retumba Afortunado
Six track -basement tapes’ EP featuring A1 – -Electric Undertone’, A2 – -My Biggest Mistake’, A3 – -Just One Night’ B1 – -Hung Up’, B2 – -Do Nothing’, B3 – -Speck of Dust’. The first five songs will feature on the bands’ debut album, ‘Lovers’ Quarrel’ which is due for release in August. These versions were recorded live by the band and are being released as a limited edition import 12′.

Record Store Day 12′ Picture Disc
Exclusive 2 track 12′ Picture Disc. With only 1,000 of these being produced this is the ultimate collector’s item. Track listing – Metallica ‘Frantic (UNKLE Remix)’ and Black Sabbath ‘Paranoid (Alternative Lyrics version)’. Each disc has the band logos on either side and is individually numbered.
