Childline Rocks - A worthy indie-charged cause

Tomorrow night in The Academy on Abbey Street (formerly Spirit of course), Childline Rocks takes place – a fund-raising event which features an impressive line-up from the best in Irish rock, indie and alternative acts. There are three stages and it runs for SEVEN hours. That’s 7.30pm – 2.30am. The night will be presented by Michelle Doherty from Channel Six (who has a blog).

On The Star stage is Cathy Davey, The Coronas, Future Kings of Spain, Super Extra Bonus Party, Ham Sandwich, Clampdown DJS and Soul Riot DJs. The Phantom 105.2 Stage has Jape, Rarely Seen Above Ground, Dry County, Le Bien, Phantom DJs, Bodytonic DJs and Rocket Surgery.

The third stage is the mysterious “Songs of Praise Stage” which is described as Rock ‘n’ Roll Karaoke with a surprise guest host and Ophelia.

Tickets are €23 available from through ticketmaster.ie & all ticketmaster outlets nationwide. State urges you to go if you can, it’ll be a great night and cheap for what’s on offer.

A good cause too – perhaps if they could organise more events of the same ilk around the country they’d benefit more

  • Brian Chris

Wasn’t suggesting that, but there are more acts out there than the artists doing this event.
