Run entirely by volunteers, KnockanStockan is about “bringing musicians and music lovers together to celebrate, showcase and share their music in the magnificent backdrop of the lakes and this year is set to be the best one yet!”
With over 80 acts on the bill including And So I Watch You From Afar, The Hot Sprockets, The Candidates, North Strand Contra Band, Sounds of System Breakdown, Mescalito, The Prairie Dawgs, Intinn, Kopek and Noise Machine, it’s certainly value for money at €75 per ticket (buy here).
We have pair of tickets to give away. Drop us a mail on giveaway@state.ie with your details before next Thursday 22nd and we will contact the winner that afternoon.
Oh wow! Another festival that will be attended mainly by volunteers, bands or freebs. (I have been before).
The Hot Sprockets AGAIN. They seems to churn out the same stuff every year.
This festival bill (bar Ememies, ASIWYFA, Nouveaunoise) is not worth the effort.

That seems harsh, John… for a start, Sounds Of System Breakdown are superb. And it’s a huge line up, bound to be some good stuff on there to be discovered? Given that it’s very affordable next to the big ones I think it’s well worth a look. I’m the one tasked with reviewing it, anyway, so soon find out…
