Over the past few months Mount Kimbie have contributed mixes to a number of websites which have displayed their eclectic musical taste and left fans begging for more. Is this something they would like to be involved with in the future? “Mixing is weird because sometimes I really love doing it and sometimes I hate it. The way we do it is medieval. We just use Traktor software- no controllers or anything. In the future it might be something we’d look to while we’re writing new material.”

It is somewhat of a mystery that an act like Mount Kimbie would end up signed to a label that brought us Joy Orbison‘s epic ‘Hyph Mngo‘ as well as other classic dubstep tracks “We didn’t contact Hot Flush directly” Dom reveals. “It was through a link on a forum and Paul Rose [Scuba] got in touch with us. I think that’s one of the best things about Hot Flush and having Paul Rose at the head of it. He’s willing to go through things and recently he’s picked up some wicked artists and its great to be a part of it. He is really pushing things forward.” Mr Rose also contributed a banging rework of a Mount Kimbie song on a recent remix compilation as Dom is well aware. “What Scuba did to ‘Vertical’ is sick. He played that track when we at a big show in Brixton and I was like “Fuck me! That’s a great remix!!”
