Pick for the Picnic free showcase gigs start this Wednesday
The Pick for the Picnic 2011 showcase competition commences on August 10 in Crawdaddy and runs for four nights (10,11,17 and 18 August) before culminating in the final on September 1st. One band will progress from each night to the finals, where they will compete for the ultimate prize of playing a set at Electric Picnic.
Admission is free to all the events which are being organised by POD, Festival Republic and Heineken Music.
Dublin four piece Cloud Castle Lake won the competition last year (A video of the performance is below) and have since played an array of festivals and showcases such as Electric Picnic, Body and Soul festival, Whelan’s Ones To Watch 2011 and the Hard Working Class Heroes.
