It’s been too long. The State Mix series is back with an exclusively prepared mix from The Expert of Messiah J & The Expert which he kindly made for us, even though he’s currently preparing for the release of the third MJEX album From the Word Go which is out this Friday, October 17th.

The album launch is on the following night, the 18th in Andrew’s Lane with support from former Chalets’ girls new outfit (and current State pick for They Might Be Giants) Talulah Does The Hula and Nouveaunoise. It’s €15 in on the night with more dates around the country to follow in November.

Says The Expert:

I wondered should I do a savage hip hop mix, a really weird cinematic instrumental mix, a really rare
tunes mix, a collection of all the very bizarre records I’ve bought for sampling mix etc etc. In the end I decided to go with just tunes I love/party type mix. I think that’s what mixtapes are all about really aren’t they?
