U2 album leaked by own record company

The mystery of the great U2 album leak has finally been solved – with the source being revealed as the Australian office of their record company Universal. High quality downloads of the album were put up for sale on their digital site Getmusic.au. It was two hours before the mistake was noticed and rectified. It’s been estimated that when ‘No Line On The Horizon‘ subsequently appeared on BitTorrent sites 100,000 people downloaded it in ten hours. The album receives its official release here on Friday.
